My Wedding Makeup Journey: Why I Decided to Do It Myself
As a bride-to-be, I've been dreaming of my wedding day since I was a little girl. And as someone who used to work as a bridal hair and makeup artist, I know just how important it is to look and feel your best on that special day. That's why, from the moment I got engaged, I started scouring the internet for soft glam wedding looks with an old Hollywood vibe.
Despite my experience in the industry, I decided to hire a makeup artist for my big day. However, despite the artist's sweet and funny personality, I didn't get the look I had envisioned. I even have the photos to prove it!
That's when I realized that I needed to take matters into my own hands. On the day of my makeup trial, I made the decision to do my own makeup to ensure that I got the look I wanted. I ordered new products from SEPHORA & MAC. The star of the look I created is the Tartlette in Bloom Palette.
Of course, I understand that not all brides have experience with makeup application, and I would caution them to consider hiring a professional if they don't feel comfortable doing it themselves.
But for me, doing my own makeup was the perfect decision. It allowed me to create the exact look I had envisioned, and it gave me a sense of control over one aspect of my big day. And, as someone who used to be a bridal hair and makeup artist, I knew that I could trust myself to get it just right. So, as I prepare for my wedding this summer, I'm excited to put my skills to the test and create a look that's truly out of a dream. And who knows, maybe I'll even start offering bridal makeup services again after my big day!
