DIY: CAVITY HEALING & REMINERALIZING TOOTHPASTE

If you have any oral health issues I think you should give this homemade remineralizing & whitening toothpaste a try!

As stated in the video the dentist has recommended (he wasn’t the first) that I should get my existing cavities filled. Sadly (not so sad actually haha!) getting fillings is not in alignment with my health beliefs so I will pass. Before you start thinking I am crazy for not doing as the dentist says, I will ask that you do some research on what fillings may be doing to our health. Besides, I already have enough metal in my mouth from my childhood. I was so candy crazy as a kid (I still crave sweets) but I was out of control. Stealing it from the kitchen drawer and not brushing my teeth after eating it produced tons of cavities and fillings.

Although I am choosing to NOT go the traditional route and have my cavities filled I am treating them myself….you guessed it – the natural way. I will admit I could have done a better job over the years just using coconut oil (which I believe has help my teeth tremendously on its own). It’s been many years since I heard of the health benefits of the DIY toothpaste ingredients I use in the video and I guess my brain has just been elsewhere lol.

What you need:

1/2 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt

2 tablespoons coconut oil

2 tablespoons baking soda

2 tablespoons bentonite clay powder

2 tablespoons calcium & magnesium powder

1 tablespoon water

10 drops of frankincense essential oil

10 drops of myrrh essential oil

1 glass mason jar for storage

One last note! I will be honest with you and say the toothpaste tastes disgusting but its totally gets the job done. Some people use stevia to sweeten the toothpaste bit since Im not a fan of stevia I skipped that.

If you try it, let me know how it works for you!

Recipe taken from this website – I tweeked it bit.
